ADR Vocal Stresser F/S
Nice ADR vocal Stresser for sale, it has the input/output transformer options factory installed. A FET compressor, It's a Compex compressor/gate/expander with an EQ section in a 2RU rack. Legendary for vocals, guitars and if you are happen to get a session with John Bonham and you need a compressor for the kick drum. Comes with original owners manual/schematics. Inspect and pick up in Sydney.... $1500.00. If you can't find an 1176 this unit is even more fun and far more versatile.

""I recorded the vocals with an AKG tube mic in the live room and I was also using an ADR Compex Vocal Stressor at the time. Sadly, I sold that many years ago and I'd really like to have it back now."

I didn't know anything about this piece so I looked it up .Sounds excellent. When I recover from buying everything else I am currently committed to buying, and if this is still available I will definitely take it off your hands.

The AD&R stuff us excellent.
They made the compressors for Helios.
The Compex is a favourite of Tony Visconti I believe.

They are a mono unit, EQ then compressor/gate/expander, but you can reverse the order as well.

Ok thanks - thought this was the case but the youtube vid you linked to had appeared to have 2 channels of i/o on the back. Not in the market for a mono comp right now.

Re: ADR Vocal Stresser F/S
A mono comp is definitely on my to-buy list. I've got a Purple MC77 and was seriously contemplating getting another, but this seems like a good alternative.
Sadly I have $9500 worth of other commitments (all to TRF members) to sort out first.

Would be a lovely addition to my other outboard. If you could wait a month Steve I'd probably buy it.
I've only just bought a clone pye stereo comp/lim so I'm definitely watching my pennies.

You guys are mad not picking this up. They are a fantastic compressor/EQ and rare as hens teeth.

I don't see why... Very straightforward, no chips, socketed boards, good quality components. I wish the other gear that I service was that simple.
