Hi y'all

I have 4 boards for the 312 DIY project. Build your own API 312 mic pre's.

$20 each
If you buy all 4 boards I'll post for free.

See the link for project info.

Hi Alistair

I can't say for sure. I'd imagine the component list would be the same as the others.
The sound would be determined by which op amp's,iron, etc you use in the build... so it would change depending on what they were.
The only difference that's obvious to me is these 312 boards are designed to be racked (4 fit into a 1U enclosure) and the classic api boards are for 500 series enclosures.

Someone else may be able to add to this but I think they'd be same/similar due to the circuit being a simple design.

I think the general concensus over at Group DIY is that they're more or less the same :)

Thanks guys,

They sound great. I've done the sums and it should be pretty reasonable to get them up and running, but I really need to finish a couple of other projects first so I'll have to pass for now. Good luck selling!

No worries Alistair.

I have the BOM to pass onto the buyer. The BOM shows the cost of making 4 racked 312 pre's is $800 (boards included)
The main cost for this project is the 4 input tx, 4 output tx and 4 op amps.

The boards are made to a high quality/standard. :-B
