Someone to build a home iso booth

My need for a home isolation booth grows daily, but it will be months before I could even hope to have the time to think about doing it and frankly I need it sooner. (I'm running an IT project at Railcorp plus trying to get a CD finished, so I really have zero spare time.)

On top of that, I have no idea where to start, and google provides a wealth of misinformation.

So (a) is there anyone interested in designing one for me (for a fee obviously), and (b) does anyone know anyone who could build it for me?

The available space is 230x170 cm, which a ceiling of 270cm. The floor is timber on floating beams unfortunately.

I'm hoping to keep the total cost to $3K or so, but if that is unrealistic please feel free to set me straight.

I guess I coul do both for you, the only problem being the distance when it comes to building it.
But i dunno, you might be willing to get it driven over or something.
Will it be a vox booth only or loud amps in there as well? Do you need any windows in it, apart from putting a little window in the door? What kind of acoustic treatment do you need in there? What audio connections do you need in it (I could wire those in as well / mics,cans on wallplates)? All the lighting/power requirements can be planned/put in as well. Does it need to be easily removable/collapsable or is it staying put once assembled?
3K is probably achievable, provided you don't need extraordinary sound isolation (something that would weigh a tonne) no polished timber floor in it, 20mm thick glass etc...

Senad, hmmm, if it was in say six pieces and easily shipped then that wouldn't be a problem.

Vocals and acoustic instruments (violin being the loudest) are the only things to be recorded. At home I do electric guitars with an Axe FX.

Acoustic treatment: I have no traffic problems, but there's a LOT of wildlife noise around here - cockatoos, crickets and kookaburras being the worst offenders. Rain is very loud at the house too.

Audio conns are only a single XLR and maybe a simple light. However if I use one of the tube mics I'll have a power supply that will need to be nearby (those mics don't use XLR connections).

If it could be disassembled, that would be ideal. I don't mind if the dissassemble is time-consuming, but the day will come when I will need to move it out.

Damien from Pony is a member here. Plus if you have an argument with the missus about recording too much, you can lie it on the floor and sleep on it.
If you do build a small booth, make sure to put some powered ventilation in it or it will get pretty off in there pretty quickly.

LOL, it's the wife I need to record at the moment. But we live in bushland and there is wildlife noise 24/7.

Yeah I know it sounds crazy, but the studio is 20 mins drive away and sometimes I just want to get something down quickly.

On top of that, twice in the last two weeks I've wanted to record something, but Marc had the audacity to already be in there with those annoying paying customers.
