Private all analog live recording

This weekend I'm running a live recording series all done straight to 8-track half inch (thanks to Chris Hallam). Its a private gig with 4 different bands but I thought I'd throw it open to any TRockers that want to come. Hey Myles, hope the recording goes well today. Should be a lot of fun. I would be interested in hearing how it all goes. Sonically I think you will be more than happy with the Otari, and I reckon it will create a bit of a buzz at a live recording. I would have gone to the gig but for another engagement.

Well it was a good day, though the 6 flights of stairs sucked. The tape sounded great and I'm sure we'll be doing it again...

Six flights of stairs!!.... better you than me! I remember lugging the otari up the ladder and into the cage at Revolver for a live recording of Becka Boucher's band Mercy Bell. Not nice..... don't know how it did it really.
Nice to hear it went well. Are you mixing from the tape of transfering to DAW?

Well I'd like to mix from tape but I'm not sure if I going to have the time. I'd love to mix it to tape too but my current work schedule is killing me. I haven't had less than a 12 hour day but once in the past few weeks and the physical work out of load in/out isn't making me buff either...

I did really enjoy the process of the tape recording though and I'd like to do more. The bands really dug the idea and I'm going to pursue more of the recording in an unusual space with an audience more too. Its a challenge for everyone but a fun one that can really bring out something new.
