Vintgae 1176 question

Hello folks.
Got a crazy question to ask here so hopefully one of you guys might know the answer.
I was thinking of using my older 1176LN as a line level amp and/or preamp and I vaguely remember reading somewhere that if you turn the Attack all the way to the left it should click which then disengages the Limiter and that should just pass signal through the transformers and the line amplifier.
I have not got the Limiter with me at the moment so I cant try it but can anyone confirm this?
I am interested to see how this sounds.

yes, turn the sidechain off via the attack switch pot and you have an amp with a maximum of 40dB gain
