Studio Electronics CODE 4 VOICE OD version

Postby amnesia » Sun May 20, 2012 8:08 pm

Hi all

I am selling my MINTY home studio ( non smoking) Studio Electronics CODE 4 voice with OD option and 4 CS80 filters.

New price was $4800 selling for $3999.
I have owned all the great synths since mid 80s, and this CODE 4 OD is the only true fat poly synth around today, it shits on the Andromeda A6 and the Moog Voyager.

To me it can sound CS80 like, Moog like, Oberheim Xpander ish, even JP8 or JP6ish
Here are my vids

Does the code have the cs80 filters as an additional filter option or do they replace on of the standard options?

Thanks

Hi Lindsay

They are additional
So you get the 4x CS80, 4x Oberheim and 4x Moog filters on each voice card . Plus the Over Drive option which is like a wave shaper. It has only been used a handful of times and in mintcondition . bar the slight rack rash which you would not see when screwed into a rack.

It has stereo out and 4 outs and inputs so you can use it as external filter too :-)

Honestly such a huge phat synth. I had both ANdromeda A6 and a Moog Voyager and sold them because the CODE had that magic live analog feel of all the old classics. If I could keep it I would.

I wasnt sad to see the voyager or A6 go but will miss this synth.

Checking out this Youtube vid
http://youtu.be/4uXq9jProtw
I was surprised to hear it sound like a CZ101 at times! Haven't heard any Jupe tones though.
The voice panning is really distracting, I hope you can disable that.

I like to make strange sounds now, not your bread and buter sounds, been programming synths since 1987, so really over straighter sounds.

There are lots of bread and butter sounds all over You tube of the CODE.
