best way to timestretch a track

Does that work any different to pitch shifting without time correction though? Like in Cubase you can untick the 'time correction' option when you pitch shift and it just varispeeds the selected clip like a tape machine.

One thing it is great for on the RME is varispeeding the track up or down a tiny bit in order to make doubles sound slightly different, ie like ABBA used to do. I used to do that when I was running the fireface only. Don't know if it's possible with the SSL converters, although I suppose I could use the RME as the master clock if I really wanted to do it..

I'll see what it sounds like if I varispeed in cubase then.
2BPM over 111BPM = around 1.8% which shouldnt make it sound too chipmunkesque

In logic, when you adjust varispeed you can select pitch and tempo or just tempo...check if cubase has a similar option..
