GUITAR MIC STUDIO DAY @ Pony Music - Sunday 29th July

We are having another Education/play day at Pony Music and you are invited. A cool day of Networking and playing with Audio Gear.

The day is to listen and compare guitar mics, learn more about guitar mics and micing up guitar cabinets and reamping in the Recording Studio.

When: Sunday 29th July
Time: Midday - late
Where: Pony Music Recording Studio - Hallam (Outer South-East Melbourne)
www.ponymusic.com.au| Pony Music | Australia | (03) 9702 3244 | info@ponymusic.com.au |

We will have a BBQ as well.

We were thinking about having a basic drum/bass track, recording/reamp guitar (the guitarist will be here all day anyway). we can do clean, grit and heavy guitar then close, mid and far mics..

Some of the mics up on test include
Shure SM57, SM7B
Neumann U67, U87, U47, U47Fet, TLM103
Royer R101
Coles 4038
AKG C12B
Gefell UM70
Altec 633A
Echolette ES-14 (Sennheiser MD409)
Royer/Speiden SF12 (stereo)
A pair of Apex 205 cheapies hotrodded with Lundahl trannies
Sennheiser e609, e604, e601
Heil PR40
AEA R84 Ribbon
Audix I5
and more.... (feel free to bring down some mics to demo/show off and try against others).

We hope to see some of you on the day. All welcome.

PONY MUSIC HALLAM

I can't do the 14th but the rest sound great to me. I probably don't have any mics that you don't already have out at Pony, but I've got a couple of rareish guitar amps?

excellent record keeping Damien!

I think this "event" you are planning is a great thing, there should be more of it. Nothing beats getting a bunch of like minded folk together with an array of tools to fiddle about with to compare ideas, expectations and results!

It won't be long now and Rick will be hosting a chisel shootout.

Got the family here from Tas/ACT and going to the footy in the arvo so might be able to swing by in the morning for a bit. Can't miss this!

Cheers
