Howdy.
I need a couple of speaker shelves made for an SSL 4K, the type that 'clip' onto the meter bridge.
Does anyone know of anybody that could make these?
Stef.

Re: SSL Speaker shelves
um there is no "SSL speaker shelf specialists" about as far as I know. Any carpenter (or pretty much anyone even slightly handy) with a bit of wood, some glue and nails and saw can knock up a pretty tidy pair.
Obvious answer but it seems it needed to be said.
Best of luck with the new console by the way, looks good.

Re: SSL Speaker shelves
SSL must have supplied them back in the day.
I saw a lot of identical looking, polyplastic covered speaker mounts on SSL desks in the 80's.

Re: SSL Speaker shelves
Yeah, they came free with the half a million dollar console
I'd try to get the real ones if you can, they are softer and won't rip up the bridge of the console.
Try Pro Audio Design in the US they do a lot of SSL parts and console refurbs etc..
If you're not fussed you could just use some stands behind the console...

Re: SSL Speaker shelves
SSL did have a small stand base that sat over the meter bridge, it's bottom was cut in the shape of the actual bridge itself, it's only big enough for say an NS10 or something similar, I might have a couple floating around but I'll need to scratch around the warehouse to see if I can find them.

Re: SSL Speaker shelves
Thanks fellas,
It seems the ones that were supplied are actually OK. I thought they'd struggle with the a77x's but all is fine!
I would probably take another set if they were around however.
Stef.
