I'm looking for a space to rent in Melbourne, on a medium-term basis (6-12 months), but possibly ongoing. Preferably a sub-let situation, or maybe you have an existing space that isn't being fully utilised. We'd be prepared to do an appropriate amount of construction work if necessary.
My client and I need somewhere for rehearsal and pre-production for a new album. We don't need a huge space, 25-30 square metres would be plenty (anything up to 50 would suit). Our requirements are pretty basic - we need something very secure/securable, with reasonable isolation, in the inner north (i.e. carlton/fitzroy/brunswick/northcote/thornbury etc)
Obviously we are also looking at commercial options but would prefer something with flexible terms... we can't be locked in to a two year lease at this stage.
If you have, or know of anyone who has something that might suit, please get in touch.
Cheers, wez

Have you tried Tetris studios in Brunswick?
They have a communal live room, and a fair few sublet small production spaces.
If you can get in touch with Pete O'leary (Spud) I believe he's going to be busy touring and would be happy someone to utilise his space.
