What Will 2007 Bring

Postby Aearth » Mon Dec 25, 2006 10:35 pm

Well I'm hoping for my son's band to get signed early in the year 2007. They have only played 6 live gigs together, but have been in the studio recording for 2 years doing demos and fine tuning their playing. They have already caught the interest of a major label. Three of the guys are only 17 years old and the other is 19 years old.
Two years ago they were told to stop playing live and go into a studio and get it together.......well that's what they did and oh man it has paid off. It sure helps that Daddy has a studio.

Nic,

Kind of in a similar situation here, someone (from a known company) has sniffed around at a couple of their gigs and had a little bit to say, hence we're currently tracking some of their songs.......just about to do some more guitar tracks as I type :-).........

Let's keep fingers crossed.

Do you want to get signed to a Major?

2007 is shapping up to be the year of the independant.

How long do you think it will be before we see a Myspace band win a Grammy?

We have already seen coldplay break the 1000000 itunes mark...

2007 for me is going to mean a lot more mixing than tracking. That's the plan anyway.

Hopefully a record or publishing deal of some sort for my younger sister.

as well as for my brother-in-law

I'm working on a song placement as the new summer '07 theme song for a high rating breakfast show. Very close to a deal now. That would be sweet.

Break away from the shackles of running a studio and go FREELANCE

Let all you guys deal with maintaining a tracking space, I'll just hire it and overdub and mix in my home studio.

Never record SHIT bands who don't put in the effort before recording.

Get another source of income so I don't become a jaded music industry type who ses a dollar sign everytime a musician is introduced to them.

See more live performances.

Write more songs.

Watch the world finally change for the better, goodbye Bush, Howard, Blair.

Here is hoping!

Crikey! What kind of label is working out of Laos???

In 2002 I spent a few months there living/working with my brother, it was a fantastic place...
