MS encoder decoder

Postby rob » Fri Jul 27, 2012 6:32 pm

want to explore the world of mid side processing? Decode a mid side microphone setup or fiddle / master a stereo recording with mid and side hardware processes?
Here is my custom encoder / decoder. Stereo in, mid out and side send with gain optimisation, mid and side return and stereo out. The width control allows fine tuning of the stereo spread and the mid and side mutes allow each of these paths to be muted in turn to allow listening to just the side or mid signal. If both mutes are engaged then the unit bypasses the mid side chain completely directing left in to left out and right in to right out.
This unit uses the latest THAT corp precision balanced drivers and receivers and achieves a left / right null of the side signal of better than -70dB. Maximum in and output levels is +26dBu, noise -90dB unweighted and freq response better than 5Hz to 80kHz. Distortion 0.001%
This unit is all yours for $900
