ProTools 7.4 on MacBook Pro/Intel/Snow Leopard/10.6

Recently I decided to put a PT system on my new(-ish) MacBook Pro - I do all of my work on my G5 desktop but I have a location recording coming up.

After doing all the compatibility research, I concluded that PT8 would be the oldest version I could install (many thanks to everyone who offered to help me out with disks/downloads etc). Anyway, I was helping a client with some MBox issues, exact same computer config as me... and it wasn't until I got home that I realised, hang on - he was running 7.4.

so i do more research and find that whilst anything older than PT8 is 'officially' unsupported on intel/10.6 machines - and a lot of people have reported that 7.x doesn't work - there were some people saying it was fine. So I gave it a try and bingo, no probs so far. third party plugins, so far so good. tried a few things to get it to crash, seems as stable as my dual 2.7 G5 running 10.4.

of course I could've just gone with PT8 but i'd prefer to have the same system on both machines, and I have no need or desire to upgrade at this stage. The constant upgrade cycle used to just do my head in - now i only do it when it's absolutely necessary for work to continue.

so i just thought i'd post this info for anyone wondering if it will work for them. for reference, the exact set up is -

ProTools LE 7.4.2
Digi 002R (FW800->400 adaptor cable)
