Does any1 know if there are any other substitutes for the inline preamp for the Shure PZM mics, other then the shure replacement that nearly costs as much as the mic??

Not having used the mics in question (although I just got my head out of a soldering iron making up a cable for an Audio Technica equivilent) I can only suggest that, if reasonable, try a DI box, perhaps one with gain if needed.

please let me know if you sort this out. i have a sm91a with a dead psu as well..
you can use the shure inline jobby for some lapel mics (a box like a di) but i cant fond any of those cheap either.....
