Anyone have a spare G5 airport extreme card laying around?
I'm still running HD on a G5 dual 2.5ghz Mac
I have 2 machines, and also looking for a 3rd for parts.
What I really need is to find a airport extreme card for my machine so I can use a ipad (as a PT remote) for adjusting mixes from the next room (and lying on the lounge etc...)
But neither of these machines ever had airport cards
any help / guidance would be much appreciated - there are a few on ebay but I'm not 100% sure of them actually working (3rd party cards)

Hi there, Chris.
Are the G5's in the same room?
If you are slightly proficient in setting up networks, something like this might be an easier solution:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-Airpor ... 1c2a811ac6
Connect your two G5's to it via network cables... connect your incoming internet connection to it... and connect your laptops/iphones/ipads to it via wireless. You can also connect a USB harddrive to it for network accessable storage.
If the two G5's are in two totally different locations it may not be so useful... but its apple, and may kill a few birds with one stone...

I'm only using 1xG5 - the other is for future spares.
My Laptop/ipad/imac are all airport... but not the G5
Thanks Sammas that is a great tip - I can also hook up my USB printer to it!
Cheers!

Interesting - the airport extreme models nearly all look the same, but the new model (V5) is nearly 3 x times faster.
Might pay to get a new one and get the speed.

Chris what vintage is your G5, I have an apple airport card that plugs into the motherboard, but it doesn't fit my 2008/9 vintage G5, supposedly goes into an older one maybe 2007 or so. You can have it, if its any good to you.
