XLR-TRS connectors

So I want to patch my Synths directly in a compressor with XLR input and use makeup gain there.
Also I want to sum from a mixer using TRS sends.

Any merit in using plugs like this? will they degrade sound?
Just don't want to buy hundreds of TRS-XLR cables, rather keep these stuck in the unit.

Don't wan't to buy swamp cables - so another supplier you can recommend would be good.

hi Chris,

I have 3 of those XLR(M) to TRS doovers - bargain basement price for you.

They work fine but like all extender thingys they compromise the integrity of your connections a little more - I recommend supporting the weight of the connecting cable somehow.

Whatcha got against Swamp?

I've found their stuff to be excellent - can't go wrong with Neutrik connectors and Canare cable.

I wouldn't buy their economy stuff obviously, but their prices for the quality gear are better than anyone else I've found (short of buying the components and making it myself, which I'm too lazy to do).

Their cheapo stuff is the same quality as everyone else's cheapo stuff, but from what I can tell it is at a lower price.

I have bought heaps of leads, patch cords...el cheapo mic stands from there...

service has always been good.. havent had a lead go bad yet...

mind you, I am careful with my stuff...
