U87, API, JLM, Avalon, B&O - FS - Sydney.
Updated! And new prices
Rack Gear:
1 JLM Dual 99v Rack Mic Pre (2 pre’s, older white face) $800
Bought these off DanAnder here. Had a slight issue with one channel but Dan has fixed it but since I can't get the phantom working. I bought this for $900 i think and I am will to take $800 so thats a good saving as I'm assuming its just a very easy issue.
2 API 200 Series Rack with 2x212 mic preamps and 2 x 225 comps. $2600
Now I really shouldn't sell this but someone here should be using this. The comps are stereo linkable I believe via the 200H chassis, so you get a cheap version of the 2500 buss comp and 2 API pre's in a 1 RU Rack
One of the switches is snapped but you can still use it, just thought I would note.
B&O BM6: $500
Like this without the legs. http://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=1082
Really low level on this one, sounds great on Piano. I have never replaced the ribbon but potentially could use a new one as I've had it for about 5 years.
Vadis 601 Amp: Rebadged as Galaxie: $600
Same amp as this: http://www.grouseguitars.com.au/sold/vadis601head.htm
Original Output transformer bit the dust, so was replaced with a generic OT as the Hammond Transformer was worth about $250, generic was half that... and retubed last year. Sounds cool, vintage tones on tap. Serviced by Fes at Mall music. No lowballing as I paid $360 to get it retubed and OT replaced. The reverb is great.
Audix i5: $80
Avalon 747: $1300 -- Sold --
This one has had the attack Modded to be faster by Earthling Designs? I think he is a friend of Nick Franklin. Has been used about 15 hours since last serviced. Admittedly that was 1.5 years ago.
Anyway - you know the deal super sweet STEREO eq/comp.
Sold to Ben!
Sansamp Rack Mount: $200 -- sold --
It's like the super old version of this http://www.tech21nyc.com/products/sansamp/rbi.html
Mega Crunchy.
sold to dave
Mics:
Neumann U87 (battery compartment model P48 from 1970 or 1971). $2300 --- soldd--
Serial # on request.
I think she sounds great, doesn't always pass the pop test though. (It's fine if you use a pop filter though)
Few years ago went to get a capsule clean from Gunter Wagner, said it didn't need one. Maybe one day a whole capsule replacement if the pop test was really bothering you -
Now - The high end isnt as toppy as my other u87 that I moved on already, but for this reason I liked it more.
Note - Reaktor was selling a capsule here for $500 so for $2800 you can get an old u87 with a new and old capsule.

I am just curious , what is "The pop test" ,do you mean the mic is sensitive to plosives?

Re: Mics + Outboard FS - Sydney.
when using no pop filter, and you hit it with a strong plosive. it will momentarily cut out, and slowly ramp up in volume backto normal over about one second.
i guess that would only affect vocals and kick drums.
that being said ive recorded vocals with it sucessfully many times.

Is that the capsule shorting out due to humidity/moisture problems?
Doesn't a good capsule clean fix that up?

Re: Mics + Outboard FS - Sydney.
well i dont know. that's why i'm selling it cheaper.
its heritage is 1970 or 1971 according to serial so its a good buy.
but if it needs a new capsule, that $600-800 and might kinda defeat the purpose.

Hey Guys, Tele's are likely sold.
I am splitting payment for Filjorgez aka Phil G.
Can anyone vouch for Phil as I'd be happy to send the unit off before full payment as we're all pretty decent here at t-rock, I think.
Myles etc?

Hi Chris, I can vouch for Phil, I've met him in person several times and he's a good bloke. Also paid for a bunch of things from me in instalments and even corrected my calculation even though it cost him extra money. I'd say sell with confidence.
