Rolling Pro Tools table

Hey guys,

I've seen lots of studios, especially those with bigger analogue consoles, that have their screen, keyboard and mouse on a rolling table so it can be pushed off to the side when not in use. Anyone got a good source for such a table?

I think Rick's ones at the old turtlerock were officeworks desks modded with a decent peice of timber for the top?

I'm really keen to do this on my return and am hoping to build a 'roll around' desk for my custom console idea so that I can easily position myself in the room or move things out of the way if need be. Any suggestions would be cool...

Ive pulled together a few of these at BJB etc.
The one I've got at the moment is the best I've had.
Its a 4 drawer cabinet on wheels, turned sideways with a ply top hanging over the top to form a work surface.
My monitor sits on a little shelf so that the bottom of the monitor is flush with top of the desk surface.
So it looks like a work table from all angles, but on my RHS I can reach and open one of 4 drawers with all of my needed goodies on hand in the drawers (hard drives/tape/paper/pens/chargers/plugs/headphones/ etc etc)
I got my rolling drawer unit from a used office furniture shop
I pulled the drawers out in this(crap) photo on my phone.

I did similar to Chris but used an old. heavy office table - timber with steel frame and wind up table top (height adjuster) plus wind up rotating monitor stand.

It weighs a ton so I put 3" casters on each corner - just standard ones from a h/w shop. Also fitted a slide-out keyboard (qwerty) drawer underneath that is very handy.

Photo from 2+ years ago - only the desk, monitor and monitors remain ;-)

i'd been looking around for a while for one of these. most of the smaller desks from officeworks were just too flimsy/crap.

this one is almost perfect - i'll just need to cut it down a little as it's a bit long.

i didnt know AWA made mixers... and i worked for AWA as a calibration tech for a year. Mind you I was spirited away on a RAAF base..

wonder if I could have gotten a employee discount 8)

The AWA console is still there - I've been working on a smaller 'B' room with a couple of booths and a 56 input Quad Eight console. 40 x MM403's and 8 x AM2B's...

I'll try and post some photos later for anyone who's interested.

Come on Rick, post a few photos of the rolling rack in your shed...

but what the hell
here it is parked out the front as phil punch worked out how to back it in to the shed !
