ergonomic seating

Can anyone recomend me a stool or high chair that is ergonomically good for the back and especially suited to really tall people...

Double points if
a) it is suited - in terms of size, weight and durability - to touring
and
b) if i can find it in perth

I am touring the country with a theatre company. The ikea stool they have for op's leaves me really sore after each show. And I have two months of this to look forward too.

I remember rick wrote an article about a fancy chair. I need something taller, and preferably, much cheaper (I seem to remember they sold for ~$1000). But I will pay for the privledge of a healthy back...

The chair Rick mentioned is a Herman Miller "Aeron" chair. If you can make it work for you on tour you will be in heaven.

I'd drop into your friendly office furniture store - you're looking for a high back executive chair with gas height adjustment, lumbar adjustment and back tilt, preferably without arms (though most arms can be removed afterwards anyway). Office furniture from a proper office furniture outlet is the way to go, here. Avoid the "office suite" stuff from domestic furniture places.

I've bought some for my business, around $350 each. A lot for a chair maybe, until you've got to sit in it for hours on end. Find one you like, take a book and sit in it for at least 15 mins, preferably 1/2 hour. If you still like it, then its a go.
