@Wiz
I'm in - I will immediately sell all of my old copies of AT and add the proceeds into the pot.
Update - Sadly we've gone backwards, I ended up having to pay someone to take them away.

Re: console suggetsion....
Zed r16 turned up.
Looks like it was packed by the work experience kid
I knew it was ashop demo.
Fire it up .....channel 4 is rooted.
Call the shop (well keep them anonymous at this point)
Friendly staff... Much discussion ensues....I point out the item is not really as described (more cosmetic damage , velcroe glued to the base ...) all this I would probably have let go by had I all worked.
I ask for a refund.
We will see how we go.
I have already called Allan and Heath in the uk...they were awesome...told me the date of manufacture... 2008
!
I think I might have been gotten here.
Allen and Heath after some great discussion recorded my details, and said I should really out pressure on the retailer, as they are disappointed it wasn't qc,d after that amount of time.
What shots me is I have to foot the shipping bill no matter what happens
But we will see.
The other 15 channels sound great and it has convinced me to go back to a console...it's all one side of the brain..

Re: console suggetsion....
Yes, my console is on Mixmasters for much more, so I've put up a "by now" ... but you still are shy!
I'm listing it internationally today, so if keen:
This one is virtually "NOS" from about 1991, 32 channels, on-board patch bay.
Only used for 6 months. Missing 2 - 3 knobs, and a few battle scars from storage.
One of the world's most phase coherent desks, with very transparent mic pres,
and excellent eq. Great for mixing from digital. Quote:
"The build is stellar - especially if you adhere to a "less is more - straight wire" philosophy. The pre's are not Neve's, but for transparent pre's they are ABSOLUTELY workable. At times, approaching and surpassing my API's, SHadow Hills, or Purple Biz's, depending on what I'm after - but definately in the same class. Most of the older D&R's have SSM2017's. The really, really old D&R's had a simple discrete pre in them. The design (like the true i/o module, floating subgroups, master control fader and features far ahead of their time on the Cinemix and Octagon are just now being implemented on Digital Control Surfaces and other console formats) They are solid consoles and a first choice for many who cannot spend $300,000US for an analog desk. And frankly, who can anymore."

Any point in these? From a sonics point of view. I am sensing the answer... 8)

Hey mate,
I've got a GB4 and have been happy with it. What goes in, comes out intact. When you pull on the EQ it does what you expect it to, the GB30 pre-amps are clean and clear, routing is good, build quality is good. I ended up using it in a split configuration when I had my project studio up and running.
The bottom end carries more 'weight' than the Mackie Onyx I'd used for several years. It stands up very well versus other mid-level desks (live) like the GL2400, GL3300, Venice, M7-CL's, etc... all of which were fine in their respective applications as well.
Maybe I'm just not that fussy any more.....
Hope this helps,
