Hey Everyone,
Just wondering what the consensus seems to be for speaker choices for 5.1 rooms?
I've seen at lot of B&W 800 series in overseas rooms, and Dynaudio AIR series in local rooms, with the odd JBL LSR too.
This seem pretty accurate? Or have I missed something?
Smash.

Re: Standard Speakers for 5.1 rooms?
Is there a standard? We have Genelecs in our 5.1 room, the 80 somethings, the bigger ones that I don't like because I think they have too much bass. We have them plus a Genelec sub. I don't really do any 5.1 mixing but the others guys seem to work fine on them, although we take projects to a theatre mix place like M&E or used to use Soundfirm for the final balance and master print etc..

Thanks,
Obviously not there is no "standard" so I guess I should have said what is "the norm".
It's for a new room specifically to QC TV shows, I'd never try and QC a theatre mix in anything but a big room
