digitalising an analogue console?

I have an AMEK TAC scorpion. I want to know with a console designed for analgue tape, if there are any mods ppeopl know of that might make it more optimum for digital....... It is a 24/16/2.....

I am thinking of having using 16 preamps for tracking, and modding 8 for more headroom,



8 for mixing......

it is in fairly average condition at the moment and I have plans on speaking to someone to put it back to pristine condition...... and while I am getting that done I thought i might see if there are any suggestions for modifiaction thT Cn be done at the same time....
