Motion designer/vfx/animator needed for client project

Postby vanderlae » Thu Feb 14, 2013 11:53 pm

This past year I've put down the 'tools and gone agency side, now working for a digital ad firm handling their content...which brings me to my point.

I need a 30 sec, short, sharp animated vid produced for a client who's behind the International Wine Fair, though I'm up against the clock as they need it pretty quickly (early March). The campaign is only being promoted online (YouTube & social push) so NO TV/Radio broadcast.

This is the first creative content the client is venturing into, and also a first in terms of video for us too, so I really want to see it go well. There'll be more work for whoever takes it on moving forward because I don't have a 'go to' guy yet. Do you know a solid guy?

Total budget for the animator/motion/fx designer is 2.5k. Not brilliant, but we're doing them a 'favour' to get the gig and be a test case for us. Other than the budget which I concede is pretty petty but that's all I could pull, it will represent a good opportunity for whoever takes it on as the client (owned by a large supermarket chain) will back us for future projects and this will get decent exposure both in terms of case study for our agency (who is part of global agency) but also promoted through the wider company so more creative eyes on it.

Some examples of what I want, stylistically and technically (as a rough guide), basically hybrid of kinetic text, vfx/motion:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSZPDYri ... re=related
http://vimeo.com/58110994
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iwIy0enG6uU

You get the picture...! Something thematically relevant to wine and festivity while being sharp.

Do you know anyone who is capable & might be interested? Budget is lousy, and time is ticking but it's a large minute win which I hope to be able to nail. Any help would be hugely appreciated. I can't deny I'm a more than a little anxious about finding someone suitable!

Thanks

Dave

I'll do the same - I know a traditional animator (ex Disney, Hanna Barbera) who might be ideal for this. Not sure of his availability, but his work is amazing.

Cheers again Manning, Dwayne's Labbe's style is great but not quite what I'm after for this project! Worth keeping in the banks though...

Anyone else?

Speak to eiher brad at imperialmetric, or Patrick at PatrickJustin

I've used both of them for multiple jobs = and they also work together.

I can highly recommend both of them.

Airbag in Melbourne do great work. Don't think the budget is their usual type but I know they are expanding so might have a junior or something that could have a look at it..

Thanks Andy, sounds like a long-shot but I'll give it a try. Freelancers will be cheaper than agencies but you never know. Have you worked with them before then?

Also I recall Chocolate Studios do I house design work...(?) I did them a favour with ad music a while back (read cheap as chips) so it could be worth the question.

Hope all's well mate
