does anyone have/ have experience with one of these?
im having LOADS of trouble getting one to do what i want it to... cant seem to get any analogue input, or output, to or from any other in/out
ie: the unit is working in so far as conveting TDIF onto the madi stream
but not the analogue
interestinging - i also cant get it to convert tdif to analogue
its like the whole analogue "section" of it isn't playing ball.... but everything "looks" ok (power connected inside etc
seems very strange, and I'm sure its something stupid im missing - hence seeing if anyone is familiar with the unit.

Hi Gareth, have you got the patching set up? Over on the far left you have two vertical rows, far left for input, 2nd row for output. You need to push row 2 till the output you want has it's led lit (ie - madi), then push row one button till the input you want lights , (ie analog etc). You should be able to patch more than one source to madi etc.
I'm assuming it works the same way as my Alphas.
Also, you analog in and outs usually show up as up as channels 25 to 48 on the madi stream by default, at least on the alphas it does. You can change it to 1-24 by using the setup buttons, but you'll need the manual to tell you what all the different lit led statuses mean.

Re: SSL/ soundscape ibox
hi andy
yes - understand the "patching" on the left and have that set correctly (and in fault finding have tried a few other options)
yes - you are correct the digi inputs show up first then the analogue as standard, but reading all the info i could to try and solve problem - i found out how to change that default (its DEEP in a menu system) so now instead of seeing my tdif inputs ch 1-24, i see them 25 - 48 that all works fine.
but still nothing on analogue ins (or outs) either to or from MADI, or TDIF.
im starting to think the analogue card in it might be dead???
do you happen to know if there is a "hard reset" or any such thing for it?

Re: SSL/ soundscape ibox
The soundscape ibox sometimes has a problem with the power supply where the poly switch fails around the Audio supply rails and you get no analog output or inputs. There is a service sheet available for this. I have 2 ibox s and they both did the same thing.I'll see if I can find a copy in my files,or send an email to SSL. Sounds cape support sent me the schematics and fix.

Re: SSL/ soundscape ibox
interesting
thanks alastair - that could be possible
as there is literally no analogue action at all (metering/ conversion/ in or out) the box is working "perfectly" apart from the analogue in and out..
id appreciate any info you might have on that issue
