I'm in NYC at the moment and today was strolling around Greenwich Village and Washington Square Garden and noticed a busker in the park pulling a huge crowd and doing the best cover of "Let Her Go" by Passenger (recorded by our Chris V. of Linear) that I'd heard. So I wander over, and sure enough it was Mike Rosenberg in person doing a solo mini concert to a very big, appreciative crowd, his guitar case open and bills flowing out everywhere. The lady next to me asked if I knew who the performer was, she said he was "way too good to be busker" lol. Highlight of my day, congrats to Chris and Mike, judging by the crowd reaction Passenger is going to be a big mover in the USA too. He's touring the US at the moment and has sold out all his shows, and busking a couple of performances each city for the fans that couldn't get tickets. The performance only stopped as the crowd was getting too large and the NYPD made him shut-down and move on...

Re: Nice surprise in NYC today
Nice surprise indeed Steve.
I saw a couple of photo's recently...one photo was of him busking in Pitt St Mall (? I think) about 18 months ago with no one around him, no audience, no money in the guitar case, very lonely... and then another photo of him one year later in the same busking spot surrounded by 1000's of people. It was a good indication of his rise in popularity.

Great pic sequence Ben. The guy is talented and deserves his success over the manufactured talent out there, and he's obviously not afraid to work hard to earn it, so great to see the recognition growing so quickly for him. He did a magnificent cover of Springsteen's "Dancing in The Dark" to the crowd in the park today.
