Sobering stuff, Myles, especially the link in the 2nd article: "a whole new generation of children will grow up in a world where nobody actually thinks about owning or collecting music, let alone paying for it."

A whole new generation of children HAVE grown up in a world where nobody actually thinks about owning or collecting music, let alone paying for it

Exactly Ben - recorded music is now not considered art!
Its data.
therefore musicians are not "artists" when they record, - they are free data service providers.

So from now on - lets call them "Daticians" or "Datatainers"
So the Con needs to rename itself to "Conservatorium of Data"
Aria awards - "Data Awards"
Record producers - "data producers"
Recording studios - "Data Collection Rooms "
