Mission :
build a strawbale studio and have natural light window boxes

Problem : natural light was driving me nuts
Everytime the clouds rolled past the room got
Darker in a not nice way

Solution : stainglass and a bit of Ricks what the f@#$
I will do what I like decor .

Alastair do you have another one ? My dad broke my pair
While he was helping me paint :(

Hmmm, an RCA 833A 1.5KWatt directly heated triode, AKA "The Cookie Jar Tube".......... I'll check out in the shed :D

Oops,misread the specs 300W for the 833, 1600W for the 4279 .both have 10V filaments, 10 amps for the 833 , 21 amps for the 4279

I'll be going through the valve shed on the weekend. If I don't find one here, I know where there is one in Melbourne at a TX site and I'll be there in November.

Weirdly the Japanese are buying the select ones
Off eBay and building ridulous hifi amps out of them
But the tubes are still cheap ( under $100)

The amps...? $ 100,000 +

Yeah, the Asian market goes nuts for old TX tubes in audio amps. They love 813s as well, but the damned things all run really hot as they're designed to be in a forced air chamber in a TX . I have a nice family of power Tetrodes from a TX, 4-1000 , 4-250 and 4-125 and their Pyrex air chimneys.
