Gee, they really "lifted" the Royer design didn't they.... Never heard of it before (the Carillon, that is), thought it was maybe a music PC so googled it..... so how do they sound for a sub $250 ribbon?

I haven't heard a "real" 121 so I don't know how they compare

The Carillon is a knock off of the Royer which is a knock off of the B & O.
There is lots of info and opinions in other threads here. There was a group buy of these type of mics several years ago. The general consensus was that they were quite similar to the Royer but with just a smidge less i n the bass response. Search ACM and Carillon.
