Moving OS in the next 5 weeks (US). I have a pair of G series questeds (VS2108) which I am quite fond of (thanks Kris). Going over the arguements for shipping them or selling them and buying something when I get there. Suggestions welcomed.
Also have to ship some pres (no question about selling them) recommendations about how to get them there??
Cheers.

If I had the cash I would buy them back in a heartbeat! Great speakers.
If youy haven't already, I would suggest roadcasing the pre's. Any quick shipping will be expensive. One thing you could try is seeing how much they will slug you for "excess baggage" on the airline you're flying with. It may be a better alternative than regular shipping.

Haha - Chris, you're not the 1st to offer to baby sit them. But I'm sure you would find them too hard to give back. Thanks for the well wishes too.
Like I said Kris, thanks, they have been the best investment I've made. Can't say enough for having monitors you trust.
I hadn't even thought about roadcasing the pres, better get onto that. In which case I might be able to take them with me. All we're taking at the moment is 2 suitcases each and my Gibson.

Thought I'd close out this post with a brief update.
Basically my family and I have moved to Nashville about a month an a half ago. Wanting to try and bring as much kit as I could with me I opted finally to racking and boxing up my gear and taking it on as excess luggage. I figured that I could get my monitors to the US cheaper than the $900AUD that DHL were going to charge!
So I packed them in cardboard boxes with some hand made foam inserts and took them to the airport with me. When we got to the terminal I got them wrapped in clingfilm - I figured they'd prob want to look inside the boxes but what the hey. Homeland security did open them but managed to not damage them and put them back the way the found them - good work lads. Long story short - you can get a heap of gear on an international flight for nothing! In the end it cost me $0 to get them to the US. The only time I paid for excess luggage was from LA to Nashville and that was $25USD for my rack case. So we got 2x23kg Quested monitors, 1 12U rack case, 1 gibson les paul and 6 pieces of luggage to Nashville for $25USD!!
Fast forward a month or so. I just picked up a custom built studio desk with rack mounting for $50! The kind folks who were selling it also offered to deliver it - I think they would have done it for free had I not suggested that I give them some extra for their kindness. I also just plugged up my Questeds for the 1st time since we got here. Went under the hood and changed the transformer input over and dropped in some new fuses fired them up and .... ONLY THE LEFT WOOFER WORKED!! Thankfully as I'd suspected the speaker connections had wriggled loose on the journey over and after some fiddling I'd reconnected the and ... ahhhh beautiful sound.
Sorry if that got a little long winded. Hope this story benefits someone in the future.

Haha Wez, not completely true but there are some awesome "pickers" over here and they are as numerous as the next person your standing next too - well maybe that's a little over the top. A friend over here said that Nashville was replete with talent and he was pretty much right. It's very cool and makes me appreciate the devotion people have to their craft.
Thanks Nic for your well wishes. I'll have to let you know about some of the tasty pieces of kit I get to play with. A mate of mine was on staff as an engineer at Belmont College over here - they own "Ocean Way" Nashville. He said he'd take me a long for a look if I wanted to check out the studios.
Yeah Chris we got here finally. Finally started to settle in. A big change and I miss Newy, actually Australia in general. But I'm here for a new experience and that's definitely what I'm getting.
