My old Minimoog apparently belonged to the bass player from INXS at some point in its life.

Also unconfirmed but the guy I bought my Mk1 Odyssey from mentioned it was used in the Elton John band, given the era it does fit and I did check the liner notes and it does mention that model. So hey, could be true.

Other than that, dunno, most of my gear has had a long history before I was around so I can only imagine who and what they were used for/by.

My criteria for collectable gear is a little stricter than just a famous name being associated with or previously owning the item. I look for one off items specifically related to the production of the signature sound of iconic music. For instance I have one of Joe Meeks famous "Black Boxes" specifically produced for him, while I would have no interest in say a U47/48 used by Frank Sinatra. There are 100's of U47/48 while there is only one Black Box. Yes I would love a custom guitar made for Led Zepplin but would not cross the road for a bog standard strat used by another equally famous artist. It's the one off special items that do it for me.
