Anyone know how to / what to buy to varispeed multitrack DAWs esp protools

i'm not looking to varispeed via plugins
just simply dial in a global amount just like you used to do in the multitrack days

music sounds much better with a slight varispeed ;)

Clock PT with a Big Ben and use the VSO.
RME interfaces can do like a semitone either way without external clocking, good for doubling backing vocals 'n that.

In the past I've used a Rosendahl nanosync to pitch +or- 10% (in 1% increments). As Andy says, great for double tracking BV's or main..

... for half speed recording in Pootools - hold down shift while going into record (command spacebar).

Logic does this flawlessly. I use it all the time.

You can even slow the whole track down (and hence drop the pitch) to record a tricky part then play back at normal speed.

No artefacts as far as I can tell.

It's also easy in Reaper - just apply a formula to speed up / slow down the desired ratio - I've done this with a warped 78 recorded 33 so the needle (stylus) wouldn't jump
