Vintage U77 for sale.
In good condition. Works perfectly.
Comes with original box (same serial number), tuchel to xlr cable, and original basket (unfortunately no elastic).
It is a t-powered mic, so needs a t power adapter or psu. Adapters are easy to find and affordable on Ebay.
It also has a battery compartment for a 9V battery. So you can use that, but once the battery starts to lose too much power the quality of the mic fades.
Looks like an early U87, but sounds different. Has the same capsule as a U67, but sounds different.
Very reluctant sale - $3000 on near offer.

Haha.. ChrisW, you come out with Coles now, after I've been looking for a pair for a few months and finally ordered a brand new pair.
Do they come with the adaptors Chris? JUst curious, so I can compare prices. Cheers

Re: FS: Mics (Neumann, Coles, AKG)
Yeah, mine have adapters.
I just made up the price based on recent sales across the web.
Sorry, I know you've been looking for 4038's and U87 (which the U77 would kill).
I'm just getting my head around moving, and all the stuff I'd be dragging with me unless I slim down to the absolute bare essentials.
These mics are all cherished by me, and I just had to put them all up in a hurry before I changed my mind.

It's the quick and the disappointed on trock... I'd love those 4038s.

The 77 can be moded to run off phantom, Megaphon Studio used to have 3 that had the mod.
I read somewhere recently that their transformerless. Is that true?

Re: FS: Mics (Neumann, Coles, AKG)
The whole 70 series FET mics are transformerless and run on 12 volt T-power.
They were mainly sold in Europe for film and broadcast work. There are also KM73, 74 and 76's.
I have 74 and 84 and the 74 is a bit cripsper in the top, beautiful sounding mics. I used 77's years ago and they always sounded great.
