Studio Launch Party

Postby Vic » Sun Sep 28, 2014 10:51 pm

Hi All,
Over the last four years, we have been slowly building a studio in Regional NSW on our small property.

Building whenever we had the money and when we had time between masses of other projects meant that the build has taken quite a while, but now it is time for us to launch it.

Many people on here have helped with various bits of advise over the years, so on the off chance anyone feels like making a journey 6 hours from Sydney or 4.5 hours from Melbourne to just near Narrandera in NSW, then you would be more than welcome.

On November 8th, we will be holding a special party from 4pm, the Darling Down (Kim Salmon and Ron Peno) will be traveling up from Melbourne to play, Shane Fahey from Megaphon Studio, Scattered Order etc will be coming down to do live sound (and record it) and we will sit in the courtyard and have other performances throughout the day/night.

There is an online build diary of the studio here : https://www.gearslutz.com/board/photo-d ... ralia.html

And there is a facebook event for the launch here : https://www.facebook.com/events/5502686 ... pe=regular

Everyone welcome :-)

What a thrill it is.

Good on you Vic (and helpers)! What a great build! Brilliant work on a shoe string budget - you deserve to get stacks of work into the future…all the best! :)

Thanks for the fine comments.

It's been a long build, and at times I have wondered why I was doing it, but now I stand in it and can't believe it, and I especially cant believe some of those jobs i did, like drill the binary diffusers by hand, etc.

And Chris, yes your Retro Level is there and it now has a friend, so there is a pair of them sitting together.

Studio launch was a huge success last weekend. Last drinks at 4:30am then a short sleep then straight iti the studio for three days of overdubs by 9:30am. Relentless and magnificent :-)

Here are some pics of the launch.

well done mate
how good is it to get to a point that you can feel "finished" (even though of course it never is)
welcome to the next phase!
