Re: WTB - MICS
Sure you can get some of these new…. but I have no problem with (cared for) 2nd hand mics.
Coles retail quotes were crazy high, or very long wait for a pair.
AKG is an older type.

Sam, I got my first pair of coles new and second pair used..The new ones came from a chap in UK (although the mics were shipped from Germany).. It cost nearly a grand less than what, for example, Turramusic is quoting on their site.
He's quite flexible with "options" on shipping etc..
If you don't know about him, let me know and I'll give you the contact details.

I just want to point out how "pairs" of mics aren't usually that closely matched. You won't really have a problem with two separately bought 4038s. If you actually look into what most companies consider as matched stereo pair, the frequency profiles are usually pretty different (more than 2db) from each other.

That would be great Senad, really appreciate it.
That's cool Lukas G…..Im happy to buy decent singles too (just need 2 total for stereo work, and prefer to not be years apart). If you were referring to me saying "Coles retail quotes were crazy high, or very long wait for a pair.", maybe I should have worded it - singles were near double their value from Aus retailers, and I found a pair for a good price, but they weren't going to be in my hands till next year.

One of my pairs (from the distributor I mentioned), they are 2 numbers apart (***79 and ***81 or is that 1 number LOL) and sound identical. The other pair is heaps apart and they sound close to each other.
