Careful with that axe Eugene !
Depressed ? .. I listen to commercial radio every day
Always have
I think its part of my job .. I like a lot if it
But I bounce most of it .
It's always been the same
Actually anybody that charges money to make
Records should see it as a job spec too I reckon
You don't have to like the top 40 but you should
Always know what's going on there
Easiest place to get the top 40 is in your car in commerical radio
I can't see why its depressing at the moment ?
There is lots of Australian content ..new stuff every week
It's just what it is ....music for the masses crap dialog and annoyingly crap adds
Always has been .
It's not any worse ( or better then it was 30 years ago)
Good to see one of the radio tunes that depresses you
So much is an Australian hit Dave .. At least its a fifty fifty swipe
I think Joel is still a forum member so is Sia
You still here Joel , Sia?
Commercial radio has always been mostly crap
Mostly .. But that isn't something to get depressed at in my world
The stupid media wash on Ebola , that nonsense in Iraq and Syria what Russia will do next
or how elegant Well researched and factual mr prime minister is on such a wide range of subjects
Concerns me far more then how much i like " bang bang "
And "shake it up "
Btw I really like bang bang and shake it up
Great pop songs i always turn them up so the kids can sing along
Even Joel's hits freaks & hip swing have made me tap along on occasion
But I won't be buying them on vinyl .
Or anything commercial for that matter
Vinyl can only be for pleasure going forward .. It's too complicated
To use for research .
There are better vinyl groove photos kicking about
If somebody wants to link them
It would be betterer then trashing the music of the day
Can you imagine somebody that was loving Jim reaves on his
Old mono 78 trying to cope with his kids listening
To the Rolling Stones " gimme shelter" on a stereo 45
And wondering what the f@#$ happened to radio ..?
What is all this crap ..?
Its age old .. It's called the generation gap .
