Hi, I'm still looking for the right OB poly without any luck. Anyone have one they'd like to move on to a loving home?
I'm in Melbourne. Thanks

Fwiw totally different machines,..one sounds great ..the other is a POS..YMMV !
What about the Obxa on eBay ?
I have bought off the seller before and have asked him about that one and apparently it's been fully serviced and in great condition .
Cheers

If you buy an Xpander check that the power supply board isn't the bad one that cracks into pieces. Some Xpanders have power boards that have a substrate that pretty much crumbles.

Thanks John and Steve. Yep, I'd much prefer an OB8 but I've never seen one for sale in Oz. The OBXa on eBay has gone unfortunately. As for the xpander, it's no OB8 but I don't think it's a POS

The OB8 would be my pick if I were buying an Oberheim poly, I have OBXa's but they are nowhere near as well constructed as the OB8 and I seem to always be fixing them. Having said that if you can find a rev 3 series Prophet 5 it would also be worth considering, even though it only has 5 voices I would take one over any of the Oberheims..

Hi Chris, have pm'd you. I'd be quite keen to get a 4 voice. I have a 2 voice but the 4 voice might fill my need for a OB poly while I can't get an OB8.
For those that might be interested, I spoke with the people at Sweetwater in the US and they are expecting the new 4 voices early 2015 and I also had email contact with Tom Oberheim and he's got a new OB8 line on the bench at the moment.
Still would like an OB8 though!
