Fine Wine...and an analog synth

Akai AX60. Similar to a Juno 106, but a bit harder sounding.
Very affordable vintage analog synth. $350
I probably don't want to ship it. So can drop off within reason - Sydney CBD, Hunter, Newcastle.

Moving back to UK

Can't take the fine wine with me. Looking for a home for a 12 bottle case of high quality Hunter Shiraz.
Again drop off preferred.
5 x Mistletoe Reserve Shiraz 2009 - 97/100 James Halliday. Usually $70 per bottle.
4 x Mistletoe Reserve Shiraz 2011 - 95/100 James Halliday. Usually $50 per bottle.
2 x Chateau Pato Shiraz 2007, (Mistletoe winemaker's personal vineyard)
Old Pokolbin Vineyard. Usually about $60.
1 x Chateau Pato Shiraz 2009 DJP - 96/100 James Halliday. About $60 each.

$300 the case ($25 each).

Tough decision.
I probably have a better chance of living rural and working in music in the UK than I do living rural here.
Probably made a few too many dumb decisions since I've been here, and not put myself about enough either. So no blight on Oz.

I'll definitely be back. Maybe in a few years.
My next house will have a usable, fast broadband connection, so I'll be able to work remotely and collaborate with Aussies if that opportunity arises - one of the things I screwed up on here, assuming fast broadband would come to my part of The Hunter within a few years. I have the same speed now as I had eight years ago.

Yes - I think we all screwed up hoping for fast internet - we would have got it, but amazing what a change of "gov" can do to destroy that.
The music industry desperately needed NBN (MkI)....
I have to drive 40kms away to a mates place to use his NBN for large data jobs - PITA!

If I continue to post, maybe you'll follow my fortunes back 'home'. Hopefully not continuing downward.

I do have one gig in the pipeline. Another drum sample product, three years in the making, and part recorded at 301 and The Grove in Sommersby - Thanks Chris T for the advice.
Still trying to tie up our deal with the parent company. So not a done deal yet.

I think that sometimes we forget how small Australia is and how low the critical mass of people here are to support our industry. Australia's entire population is 24 million scattered across an entire continent, California alone is has 38 million people. Unfortunately the reality seems to be that as Chris said, you can live in Rural England and have a vast market around you to sell your services whereas in Australia we are a bunch of towns and a couple of cities with mind-numbing distances between us.

I love my AX60.
She does a few sounds exceptionally well.... screams "80's" at you.
Great partner with the S612 of course.

More of a pinot noir guy myself however.....;-)
