Holbrook is a hell of a long drive from the Central Coast to get a pie. But if you are driving down the highway to Melbourne its a good stopoff point. Just after Holbrook and it's subs and pies and motel the fabulous Hume turns into a 2 lane buggy track (they were building a bypass last September, but I doubt it's finished yet) so the pie and vanilla slice will keep you amused until the 4 lane bit outside of Albury.

Best part is that when driving from Sydney to Melbourne, Holbrook seems to be where I run out of fuel. A customary stop at the pie shop to refuel me, then some fuel for the car, and I'm all good till Melbourne

If I were following the new theme I would have been holding Paul Kelly's "How To Make Gravy" book, which I also had in the car. Excellent book. Wonderful. Highly recommended.

Last few days I have been in Canberra to say goodbye to my best man and lifetime friend who has pancreatic cancer. Special time.
Hecheto welo as my Soux friends would say.

Anyway inspired by the memory of this thread we stopped off at Holebrook for the Byer Motel pic.....( decided to give the Audio Tech mag a miss )
