Looking for an Akai S900 floppy

Postby Thirteen » Tue Jul 14, 2015 2:23 pm

Doues anyone have any Akai S900 floppies with samples on them? I am working on an Oberheim DPX-1 and I need to get some sounds into it in order to test it.

Thank you, that would be great, I can make copies of them and return them to you. I have another one here with a bad power supply, if I find a replacement that will fit the machine I will let you know. The one that I need the disks for is having a USB floppy adaptor installed.

Steve,

I got loads of S900 and S950 and EII floppies.

Those power supplies tend to go up in smoke.
(I think they are the same ones as the Linn9000 which also tend to go up in smoke)

I have found that replacing the switch mode supplies from old machines with modern switch mode units makes them sound rough, the modern units seem to be really noisy on the 15V rails.
