Hi All. I'm putting the feelers out for a console. Looking for something to work in with a Studer 8 track. Not sure how much I want to spend yet, just seeing what's out there. Thinking along the lines of Auditronics Grandson, Raindirk Series 3, Studer etc.
Thanks everybody.

8 to 24 ... broad I know..
Ideally I'd like to record a whole band live and mix to groups then to tape. So 24 - 8 -2 would be good.
But I'm still open to fewer channels and multi tracking.
Cheers.

Thanks for the lead Simon, the AMEK is in the ball park, can't get hold of the seller though, would assume it's sold...
Anyone else know of anything around? Seems pretty light on the ground at the moment.. maybe they're all racked.

Hey all. Bumping this post.
Have a few that I'm looking at so far, a Toft ATB, Sony SRP V332, Yamaha PM2000, AMEK Angela, TAC Scorpion, TAC SR9000, 70's Soundcraft Series II, Soundtracs Solitaire . So it's a varied bunch!
I'll attach a pic of the control room build so far for an idea of vibe.
So anybody... is there anything else special out there?
Thanks.

Re: Wanted: 60's - 70's console.
This post reminds me of my own post from about 4 years back.
I ended up with a 32 channel Auditronics 740 (circa 1980). It remains one of the best purchases I ever made.
Good luck on your hunt.

32 ch TAC matchless for sale from another post in the for sale section. Think the seller is looking at around $5k for it.

Thanks Manning. Glad to her it worked out for you. As you can see, I've had to widen my scope. There's a few promising consoles I'm looking at, but still not sure that I've found the right one. I'd like to get something happening in the next week or two.. But I'll be patient
