FS. Blue Kiwi microphone.

Postby heathen » Mon Aug 20, 2007 3:50 pm

Hey everyone, I dropped the price for the Kiwi to $1700 they retail in the USA for $2000 USD. If you want a superb vocal mic this is the one. I've got 2 and can only afford to keep 1, this mic has to go as I have new gear on the way.

Anyway if it does not sell for $1700 I'm gonna keep it and have an awesome stereo pair of mic's.

If your interested please phone or email.

This is one great all rounder mic, you won't get a better mic than the Kiwi under $3000. I bought one from Heath and I'm loven it, killer on any source.
They go for $4K here in Aus if you want to buy from a dealer.

Heh I guarantee you wish you were not getting new pre's, just ask Nic about the love he feels for his new Kiwi.

Yeah they are an extremely good sounding mic, everything which goes through them seems to sound great, works magic on vox and acoustic guitar especially nylon string, they have a special quality which is hard to put your finger on.

Very nice and smooth in the high end and still smooth yet forward throughout the midrange freqs, the low end is not huge (but still quite robust) in the cardioid pattern but the low end picks up as you turn through to supercardioid.

I've just started mixing an RnB EP for this great sounding female vocalist "Aruna" who was recorded with my other Kiwi and she sounds superb, um actually better than superb and this was just tracked straight into a 001, then at my place routed through some api 525 comps and avalon eq during mixdown and I'm blown away by the sound, best mic I ever owned.

Man I don't understand why it has'nt sold, they are selling for $1600us on ebay, it's no big deal though I would like to get it sold before my new API 2500 arrives.

Heath,
If I had the cash, I would, but I'm really gassing over one of Rob's reracked mic pre's now - I have been for some time and after talking to him about them last week, it's nailed the last nail (if you know what I mean!!) :-)
Those Kiwi mic's are very nice tho...

Damn, if only......................................

The API was my fault, once Heath tried my pair of 525 comps nothing else sounded nicer. But the Kiwi was his fault, I had no intension of buying one till he pushed it on me. I wish it sounded like crap but it didn't, just had to have it.
BEWARE DON'T TRY ONE UNLESS YOU HAVE THE BUCKS $$$$$$

No, not yet. They will sound great - I'm so looking forward to getting them. The job Rob has done on them looks awesome..
I'm hoping ot get them in the next week or 2 - I'll have to ring Rob again..
He knows I want a racked pair, but there are a few so there's no real super rush - I'd been saving for them for a while.
Just need to wait till next payday, then bootytime!!!
:-)
