with my changing circumstances i am (for the time being at least) running all my systems on HD native, and getting rid of the "main" HDX tracking system (as im not tracking full bands in studio right now)
no interface or PT licence included with this.. i still need all that!
this is for the HDX PCIe card only
there are a lot of benefits to HDX over native - mainly when tracking large bands, using plug ins while tracking, latency, and sheer power.
im sure you know if you need it.
this is a bit hard to price.. as its not something i have ever seen for sale in aust.
but going on the "avid crossgrade" pricing from native to X (7500USD) and HDX cards in the US for sale on ebay for around the 6-7k USD mark.... im going to say $6000AUD (plus GST, with full commercial invoice)
thats about half what it goes fro new in aust.
and seems inline with the US sales once you consider getting it here and tax.
if you already have a licence and just want to upgrade your power considerably - this is the way to go - and the cheapest you will get there.
ill also include my copy of HEAT (which some people swear by, and can only be run on an X system - native cant use it) if you apy any transfer fees.
consider it a gift since i wont be able to use it for the time being anyway.
as always, enquiries to gareth AT gigpiglet.com.au
thanks

Re: FS: PT HDX card only
Heat has worked on a native system for a while now. You just need to be running Protools HD 12.1 or later software. You don't even need to be using Avid hardware.

Re: FS: PT HDX card only
well shows how far behind i am!
still all on HD11 here... and heat was certainly an X thing only back then.
maybe ill keep it then!
just means i have to upgrade all the systems to 12... which im not ready for. and then i can only assume that my version of heat wont work.
not cause i know anyting about that - just cause thats how it all works right?
sidenote - have changed our video editing system over from Avid Media composer to Adobe Premier. difference is night and day! so much cheaper, so much better support, stuff just works. amazing.
makes me want to get out of PT but dont think there is the same answer in the audio world.
i cant see avid holding on to any arket share with MC for long though!
