Mics, compressors, interface and other bits

Getting rid of some stuff I’m not really using anymore:

    Milab CM-22 Cardioid Condenser Microphones x 2 - $200 each
    1176 Rev H Clone - $800
    M-Audio Firewire 1814 Audio Interface w/ Pro Tools 7 - $120
    dBX 266XL 2 channel compressor/gate - $60
    Drum Practice Pad - $10

Items located in Canberra (Queanbeyan more specifically). Local pickup preferred, but I can post at buyers expense.

More details on items below.

Milab CM-22 Small Diaphragm Condenser Microphones (4 units)

These are solid little cardioid condensers that were originally from Australian Parliament House.

Good sounding mics. Fairly flat response with a little bit of low end roll off, a little bump around 7kHz before it dips off a little around 8kHz.

Great for spoken word voice, which is what they were made for. Good for things like acoustic guitar, can work as more distant overheads, but can’t handle high SPL’s so they distort when close miking things like drums and cymbals, so generally not so good for that purpose. I regularly use a couple for audience mics.

I have a bunch of these, and I have decided to sell a few as I just don’t need that many.

Each unit comes with capsule (detachable), preamp, and extension for the capsule, although I have never found the extensions that useful (they were installed up through a hole in desks/tables in Parliament House). No mic clip included, but I use some generic shockmounts from Swamp (http://www.swamp.net.au/isk-skse113-thi ... shockmount) and I can include one of those for $10 extra if wanted.

1176 Rev H Clone

I bought this off Ben Moore from this forum a few years ago. Here’s his spiel from then:
“with boards bought through the Group DIY (Mnats boards) from Gyraf. All of the components were sourced from OS except for the rack and the resistors and caps. The 1176 knobs themselves cost a lot. I sourced the Modutec VU from a guy in Chicago.
The power and alignment was finish by Rob Squire of Pro Harmonic and he did a great job finishing off the unit.”

When I got it I fixed up a ground issue and that made it a bit cleaner, and added an “all-buttons-in” switch. It’s not the cleanest compressor in the world, but it does that 1176 thing, and it has been a go to compressor for a lot of stuff for me, especially rock and metal vocals.

Selling this as I’m re-prioritising Rackspace and money, but I won’t be too sad if it doesn’t sell either.

M-Audio Firewire 1814 Audio Interface with Pro Tools M-Powered 7

A great little interface that covered me for a while. I haven’t used it for a bit, as I upgraded to an interface with more analogue inputs a few years back, and this has mostly been sitting around. I don’t think it is well supported any more, but could be good for someone who has a firewire port and wants to set up a basic DAW rig.

dBX 266XL 2 channel compressor/gate

I haven’t used this in a while. I had it in a rack for live sound but I mostly use a digital desk these days. I’m a bit suspicious of the first channel as it seemed to be a bit temperamental from what I recall of it, and I haven’t been bothered to pull it out to test it properly, hence the low price.

$60 ono

Drum Practice Pad

Good condition. I have two and only really need one (although I’d arguably only even need that one if I actually did some practice).

$10

Thanks Adam. I just updated image links to Dropbox links. Hopefully that fixes things.
