COMPLETE Covid 19 shutdown TRMF reboot .

Postby rick » Sat Mar 28, 2020 8:04 pm

You know for a bunch of reasons I have not been in my own sandpit in ages
From tommorrow noon I am creating a total corona shut down

The TRMF will exist for all the current members only to escape all forms of virus talk
And opinions . That is a complete stage 5 don’t talk about it here lockdown

This will be (for the time being ) be the only place on the internet without adds
Or Covid 19 and f@#$ don’t we need it ?

Do with it what you will .

If I had any money right now I would be buying the ams neve 500 series
And rmx reverb and wiring it into my home studio !!

Hooray for this. Turtlerock back to the sanctuary it once was.

Have you heard the 500 series AMS reverb? Does it sound like RMX in a 500 series format?

I haven’t even seen it , but I think you have my spare one don’t you ? I would like to have one connected to my ssl x logic desk for when we all get put put on ice for months .

I use the uad plugin ALL the time but the real one is still what I use on the neve 8038 at turtlerock
Every single recording session The uad is great because you can have a whole lot of instance but the real
One melts away into the mix better and is more inspiring to sing into .

But it has a loud fan , and although my one is 99% reliable 30 plus years of expecting them to not work all the time
Still has me viewing it with suspicion
So in a cashed up world I would bet on neve porting the uad plug into the kooky looking 500 box
I hope they haven’t ported the fan into it .

The ams reverb has been on every mix I have ever done me thinks .

Did your old one RMX ever start spitting digital hash (on the display)? The work one has started doing this occasionally - not enough to really troubleshoot but once in a while....

Suspect a battery is the culprit?

Hi Rick and all fellow Trockers. Its been a while. I miss the forum format. Much better for conversations. Facebook trashed so many great forums. Let's bring it back.

Hello all! I’ve missed this place... been setting up a list of projects and setting up a workbench for the lockdown... going to try to finish some of the projects this place supplied and/or inspired.
Thanks for the reboot Rick!

Its good to be back! Welcome back everyone :ymhug:

I've been gradually racking enough gear to keep me warm over winter, and really enjoying spending time in my little corner. It's a happy place to step into, and loving that satisfying feeling realizing a day has passed in what feels a couple of hours.

Hi everyone. Still at the school job and doing the occasional project but working more on my own material. Sitting in my boat in iso at the moment. Just put a coat of tung oil on the deck! Now I have to go and wipe it off!!

Here I was hoping for a good TRM April fools joke. There seemed to be a lack of them around the place this year.
Though I did see one about the Neumann Re-issue of the KM84. That was kind of funny.

Like Wiz I stick my nose in most days but don't have anything to say as for various reasons music is "non existant" around here.

Take care y'all. B-)

Thanks for the breathing space Rick. I've been on the farm now for almost 10 years after moving 2.5hrs out of Sydney and self-built myself a very nice little John Sayers-designed studio. Might snow here today .....
