Pay what you want for the new Radiohead album. No label to get in the way.

Just like when I was listening to JJJ a few weeks back I think they were interviewing Dave Grohl and he just said "yeah you can download our new album from any good torrent site", I just thought, WTF!

These guys will make millions from touring anyway.

Geez I'm glad I don't own a record store, it would feel like being on the Titanic, not that slow sinking feeling, it's just like hitting an iceberg and sinking within 5 minutes.

Though no point grumping about it, just gotta keep at it.

i feel great about it....now all the music i toil over night and day while i mix and engineer can sound like a shadow of its former self.

.......sarcasm over......

seriously, i dont get it....bandwidth is soaring worldwide, technology is getting better, but we are still distributing music in compressed mp3 format! WTF!!! we should be releasing music in 24/44 on some new wonder format..mp3 was invented as a way to share files quickly over dialup (i think)....or at least quickly....now thats not so much of an issue....i can download 60MB in 10 minutes...and that seems to be considered slow...by my friends....

sorry for hijacking....

this may be genius!!

"dont buy this album"...."but if you want...here's this totally killer box set"

the epitome of reverse psychology dont you think? :P

Apparently the box set pre-order sales are far out selling the mp3's of the new album, which is doing quite well. There may be a bunch of people who steal music via torrents and P2P but there are clearly a lot of people who will happilly cough up and support artists they love.

especially when the artists make themselves more lovable by seeming as though theyre not in it for the money....but after so many years of fame, they have enuff by now...good on em!
