LP8 installed like a dream, no issues at all for me (Intel Mac Mini, 2GB RAM). Runs well. Heaps of soundfiles and loops to play with.

You need to have the dongle for the installation process, but not thereafter. However, keep it safe because its necessary for any re-installs.

I like the new workflow, with most of what you need in the one window. I used to have a track muted in the mixer window and then wonder why I didn't hear anything when I hit play in the arrange window. Screensets were a way to minimise this, but the new approach is better.

I haven't yet tried out the new live program, MainStage - looks good in principle, but I want to see how it goes with latency in practice. Still, as cpu grunt gets better its time may well come.

Mainstage latency is somewhat dependant on audio interface.

Runs like a dream with the symphony/symphony mbl on the MacPro and MB Pro's :-)

Glad to hear that you are liking it logic though - what do

You can legally install on two machines but Apple logs it....

I think the sound is smoother and cleaner. The timing all round is definately better and rewire with Ablton live is now spot on instead of unusable...

Great long awaited upgrade :-)

The summing processing scales to 64 bit when needed. :-) Trust me, thats good.

Funnily enough, there have been some complaints from one or two of the hip hop guys who said
that version 8 sounds too "nice".

Can't please everyone.

For those of us who bought an upgrade, where do you keep the Xkey dongle you'll need for reinstalls?

How about in the boxed set itself, right next to the install discs. I used the foam padding to make a nifty little Xkey holder. Pity Apple didn't think of this and send the foam pre-punched.
