Here is somemore gear we have to listen to.
Avedis Audio MA5 mic-pre module
- Avedis Audio E27 eq module
- Avedis Audio R52 two slot rack
- Purple Audio BIZ mic-pre module
- Mercury M72s valve mic-pre/DI
- Mercury M76 valve mic-pre/DI
- Mercury EQP1 Pultec valve EQ
- TelefunkenUSA M260 valve pencil mic
- TelefunkenUSA AK47 valve mic
- TelefunkenUSA M16 valve mic
As well as some API, A-Designs and Buzz gear. I'll put on a BBQ and some beer, so we can make a day of it, won't have this gear for long so we need to make a date for the next week or so.
Post me if your interested.
The Avedis MA5 is the one I'm interested in, it's the 500 series module pre that sounds like the 1073, well that's the hype anyway.

Either Tues or Thurs next week would be fab nIC. Let me know if this is ok for you.
I could come Sunday, but would have 3 kids in tow (not really an option for gear-specking!!)

Not to sound like a smart arse or try to one up anyone but more so cause my mind is so blown by this collection of gear and I wanted to share it with some people who care :-).

http://web.mac.com/rolffz1/blackbird_au ... e_mic.html
I hired some ATI 8MX2 pres the other weekend from these guys the other weekend (plus they threw in an A-Design Pacifica for free cause the ATI,looked lonely they said). I went in a couple of days earlier to check out their stuff and had to steady myself. As you walk in the door there is a wall of pres just sitting there waiting to be recorded with. Granted they don't have "everything" but enough to keep you busy for many weeks of just trying stuff out.
I am planning to hire some bits and pieces to have my own private listening sessions. These guys are great guys too.
Just wanted to share the experience.
Hope the listening session went well.
Luke.

No worries Heath, it was good to see some faces to names of fellow Turtles. Like to thank Jeep, Chris H, Joel and you for showing up, I reckon we had a good afternoon, not just trying out gear but just talking music in general.

I'd just like to say a big "thank you" to nIC for organising todays listing (and listening) session.
It was a great day enjoyed by all.. Not only did he have some great gear himself, but he cooked up a BBQ & salad for lunch and threw around a few cold beers. Talk about a top bloke.. Nic, your a legend.
There were some lovely EQ's and mic pre's that were tried today.
Was also great to put a face to some of the names from here..
Couple of guys were from GearSlut's but are planning to join the TR forum, so I hope they jump on board..
Its a great networking opportunity - funnily, as one of the guys lived 5mins WALK from my house!!
We recorded through his M149 anniversary edition and there are some sound samples of all the mic pre's.
I'm sure they'll pop up soon..
Once again, thank you Nic.
Tim..
