I recon. It's from an old Broken Hill storm a few years back. Much the same as happened the other day.

if you leave a standard red house brick in the sun all day the radioactive isotope level goes up enough to measure
errr not that i have a nos war war 2 tube giga counter or anything....
actually i must fess up that i have two , never know when your going to need one right ...?

The storm is believed to have originated around Woomera and near the Olympic Dam uranium mine.

I've been to this mine and been taken around the huge tailings dam. Of course, unfortunately this alpha radiation is dangerous only if inhaled or ingested...
