Unbalanced to balanced

Postby DrAlienSmith » Wed Feb 10, 2010 9:36 am

Hi,

I have 2 outboard eq units that were custom made here in Australia for a studio that closed a few years ago. These units have great features but they have unblanced ins and outs. Whats the easiest way to get a balanced line in and out at +4 level?

Is it as simple as adding transformers to the ins and outs? Do the transformers change the -10 signals to +4 as well as balance or is there something else that would need to be done? I'm a bit of a noob to the electronics world.

Thanks
Al
