No problem with BJB situation - plenty of work year in year out - its been 80% full for nearly a decade in both studios.
I will be throwing shitloads of constant work away.
All I can advise anyone with a studio - NEVER go into partnerships.

Well at least I have my cute Tassie studio - creative home to Daniel Johns and many other fine creatives.
I'm also looking forward to working in all these other great Aussie studios in Sydney and Melbourne.

stick with the positive ... nobody needs a big studio
you have got to lie awake dreaming about it to make it worthwhile i reckon -
when the nightmares start and become reoccurring
its better to knock it down clean up pack up and move on

I've never worked at BJB but my friend & colleague Tobias Cummings has always spoken very highly of the place and I'm sure passes on his best wishes. I have been following BJB's progress with interest ever since the big AT article covering the original fit out. I am very sad to see such a highly respected studio go, but ultimately it's a people business and I have no doubt that the right people will follow you wherever you go Chris. Good luck!

Well - there will be a lot more work out there for you guys now we are not steeling so much of it!

Again thanks for all your kind words.

And also I would like to acknowledge 20 years worth of incredible clients, producers and engineers from all over the world who have loved the place, the quality of the recordings, the killer vibe - and have given so much joy and appreciation back to me. (some who are also on this great forum)

For some reason - selling a lot of this stuff to you guys gives me pleasure - rather than a shallow ebay experience.

I haven't used BJB but I know a number of people who have. It seems to me that BJB is the BHP of Australian studios.... the quiet achiever.

I'm sure whatever you do next will be successful, if for no other reason than it will be your name on the door and people will remember the BJB experience positively. That kind of goodwill is priceless.

Hey Lenny - how are you? Long time.
Bear passed away only 8 weeks ago - he was my greatest friend in the world.
He is credited on so many albums its outrageous.
He spent every day of his life with me.
If any studio would not let me bring him then I would not work there.
He was 13 years old - I spent the majority of the last 12 months caring for him in Tassie, had to lift him up each morning to get him going -his body was packing in. Weighing 40 kilos, I had to carry him up and down 3 flights of stairs at BJB a few times per day for his walks. This was for the last 2 years.
Not so easy after a 14hr session at 2am - with a few glasses of red under my belt!

I passed on so much amazing work to care for him over the last year.
Hence a lot more time spent on TRock as I kept him warm by the fire while on the net.
MAN - i miss him bigtime!
He's buried on the property - with a tree to be planted in his honor.
Here he is a few years ago at BJB - and a few weeks before his passing.
